Some Bad Cheer for the Season

Wednesday, 24 December 2008 18:56 by Sreejay S
Okay – it’s time to take off the velvet gloves. I have, in previous posts, always advocated moderation, taking a deep breath and a bit of balance in or response to our western neighbour. Unfortunately, Pakistan is as burdened with bad leadership as India is. They are more scared of fa... [More]

Wednesday, 10 December 2008 21:09 by Sreejay S
Life is winding down to 'normal' in the country. Pakistan and Mumbai has somehow receded into the background buzz of day to day life; the candles have melted, the placards burnt. All those 'lipstick and powders' are now being put to better use. Shrill voices have come down to their u... [More]

Friday, 5 December 2008 06:43 by Sreejay S
The atmosphere has become toxic after the Mumbai terror attacks, so much so that hysteria seems the prevalent mood. People are calling for war. People want death - blood, destruction. Let's throw out the rulebooks

Friday, 28 November 2008 19:23 by Sreejay S
The horror in Mumbai is winding down as I write this. Over the last 50 hours or so, I have been following it on TV as well as online for my own coverage of it on this site. Some of you may remember my earlier (maligned) post on Indian nationality. Sadly, we can see that it turns out to be too acc... [More]

Monday, 10 November 2008 06:27 by Sreejay S
I used to work in the Kingdom of Bhutan. Everyone had to carry an Identity Card in the Kingdom and was subject to inspections. The actual process of the ID or the carrying of it was not so onerous. What was irritating to many of us Indians was the description of the status of the card owner. All Bhutanese were classified as ‘Nationals’ and all the rest were ‘Non-nationals’. This irked many of us no end, I can tell you. [More]

So Mr. Barack Hussein Obama has made it into history. Euphoria seems the prevalent mood, not just in the US, but also all over the world. [More]
